Open FamilySlate → Settings → Setup & help → Run setup assistant again. Your household data is not deleted when you change which modules a device shows.
Open FamilySlateConnect another phone or tablet
On an already-connected FamilySlate, open Settings → Connect your phone. Scan the QR code with the new device or use Copy link. The private link is the key to your household, so only share it with people you trust.
The wrong or empty FamilySlate opened
An empty board usually means the bare app address was opened without the household’s private link. Return to a connected device and use its QR code/private link. Do not create replacement data until you have checked the link.
Calendar feed is not updating
- Use Refresh on the Calendar tab.
- Check the calendar is still listed under Settings → Calendars.
- Confirm the source calendar still publishes the same iCal/webcal feed.
- If the device was offline, reconnect it and refresh again.
FamilySlate looks like an older version
Close and reopen the app first. If it still looks old, open the site in the browser once and reload. Installed Home Screen versions should then update their cached FamilySlate files automatically.
Installing on iPhone or iPad
Open the private FamilySlate link in Safari, use Share → Add to Home Screen, then launch the new Home Screen icon. The private link should be opened in Safari before installation so the installed app joins the correct household.
Installing on Android
Open the private link in Chrome and use Add to Home screen / Install app when offered. If the option is not shown, use Chrome’s menu and look for Install app or Add to Home screen.
Something is still not right
For beta testing, note the device, browser, what you were doing, and whether the problem happens again after closing and reopening FamilySlate. A screenshot is particularly useful for layout problems.
Beta version: FamilySlate v0.20.2
